Leeds University Society Change Ringers

LUSCR stands for Leeds University Society Change Ringers: Leeds University Union’s church bell ringing society, which was founded in 1958. We ring at St. Matthias, Burley for Sunday Service, 9:45–10:30, and practice on Mondays, 19:30–21:00, (followed by a trip to the pub), in term time.

LUSCR is an active and welcoming student society with social and ringing events throughout term-time. Highlights include the annual dinner with ceilidh and the NUA (which we are boat race champions 5 years running). We also hold frequent socials from film and games nights to the infamous pub crawl – “the Otley run”. Practices cater for all abilities from complete beginners upwards and are always followed by a sociable trip to the pub! If bell ringing one night of the week is not enough there are also plenty of other towers in Leeds which welcome students. If you are starting/already at any of the Leeds universities next year please do contact us or visit us at the Fresher’s fair next September (University of Leeds fresher’s fair).
