Change ringing is open to all faculty, staff and students and extended community members who wish to ring the bells on campus and share their wonderful sounds on important Smith occasions.

PRACTICE TIMES

Mondays and Wednesdays, Mendenhall Bell Tower, 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Summer Practices Continue, Mondays and Weds. 5-7pm

This is a great time for beginners to learn!

No Practices Weds. June 10, Monday June 29 and Weds. July 1.

If you are interested in learning to ring the bells at the Mendenhall Bell Tower, please contact Sarah McElhone Moriarty, Math ’72 at to arrange a visit to the tower. Visitors from other towers are welcome.

Smith College Ringers

Smith College RingingThe current band of ringers at Smith College includes Smith students, faculty and alumnae. There are also members from the wider commmunity, including ringers from Mt Holyoke, UMass, New Hampshire and Connecticut.

We owe our gratitude to Alice Dickinson, Mathematics Professor Emerita for her efforts in bringing the bells to Smith and her work in building the changeringing exercise in North America.
