Sussex County Association Change Ringers

The Sussex County Association Change Ringers (www.scacr.org) was founded on 24 January 1885. Today there are over 1300 members from more than 100 church towers right across the county.

The Association’s activities are organized by an elected group of officers who meet regularly through the year. The who’s who page lists the current Association officers.

The Association is divided into four areas and each of these divisions has its own elected officers who arrange social events and ringing practices. Go to the calendar to see what is coming up.

There is a long history of bells being hung in the churches of Sussex, a number are still in existence that, although not dated, can with confidence be dated back to the thirteenth century. Gradually single bells were added to, and bell fittings were altered to give more control over the sounding of them.
